Fran Garfinkel joins Pillinger Miller Tarallo with nearly 30 years of legal practice under her belt. For over twenty of those years, her practice areas focused primarily on the management and trial of medical and dental malpractice cases in addition to the management of general liability defense and automobile liability defense cases. Just before joining PMT, she represented the interests of plaintiffs primarily in a variety of personal injury lawsuits, including those arising out of medical malpractice, automobile accidents, trip and falls and sexual assault. Since joining PMT, Fran now focuses her practice on the defense of automobile liability, general liability and dram shop liability cases.

Prior to attending law school, Fran obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Johns Hopkins University and then obtained her Masters in Business Administration (with a specialization in Health Care Administration) from Baruch College and Mount Sinai School of Medicine. While a student at Fordham Law School, Fran worked in the Special Projects Unit at Walter Kaye Associates, an insurance brokerage in New York City and at The New York City Law Department. Fran’s job experience gives her a unique perspective and provides invaluable insight into the evaluation of her cases. She is admitted to practice law in the Courts of the State of New York and in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

When she is not working, Fran takes boxing classes and enjoys the beach and spending time with her beloved rescue pup, Lulu. An avid supporter of pet rescue and other charitable organizations, Fran sits on the Board of Directors of Classic Legacy Thoroughbred Aftercare (“CLTA”), whose mission is to protect the legacy of former racing thoroughbreds by providing a quality of life through rehabilitation, retraining, rehoming and retirement sanctuary. Before the COVID19 Pandemic, CLTA raised $10,000 for the Saratoga Mounted Police. In addition, Fran has participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s for the past 12 years and since 2021, has been on the Planning Committee for the Manhattan Walk.
