Prior to joining the firm, Austin worked for two major commercial insurance firms as in-house counsel. He has also worked in numerous private practice firms both on the plaintiff and defense side. On the defense side, Austin inter alia defended: numerous truck leasing companies, a municipal bus company and a municipal housing authority. Austin has tried cases for both plaintiffs and defendants.
Austin has lectured on numerous topics such as: “The Legal Responsibilities of the Emergency Vehicle Operators”; “The VTL and what an Emergency Vehicle Operator Can and Cannot Do”; “EMT/Medic Malpractice”; and “The Legal Ramifications of Prehospital Care Reporting – How to Write a Good PCR” .
Austin is also a Certified EMT and Interior Firefighter with 25 years of 911 practice under his belt. Lastly, he is a member of the National Ski Patrol as an Alpine Patroller and Outdoor Emergency Care instructor.
