George has over thirty years of experience in a wide range of litigation matters (pending in state, federal and appellate courts (as well as arbitration bodies and self-regulatory organizations)) nationwide. Areas of experience include general commercial litigation, general liability and construction law, mass tort, professional liability (lawyers, accountants, brokers), employment practices, product liability, bankruptcy adversary proceedings, insurance coverage, white collar criminal defense, maritime and admiralty, and trademark and copyright law, among others. George also has extensive experience in corporate counseling and in-house investigations as well as drafting corporate and employment/severance agreements. George started his career in the business litigation department of one of the world’s largest law firms and later headed the NYC litigation practice of a large Florida-based firm where much of his time was spent defending cases and arbitrations involving securities law and corporate governance matters, as well as representing clients in investigations by the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission and FINRA involving allegations of insider trading, market manipulation and sales practice violations.
Prior to that, while in law school, George was a co-founder and editor of the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal and during his legal career has written or co-written law review and other articles on such topics as legal ethics, corporate governance, civil procedure, corporate compliance and securities law. He also served as the reporter for an American Bar Association, Section of Litigation task force on lawyers’ ancillary business activities.
George is active in alumni affairs at his alma mater. He serves on the Georgetown University Alumni Association Board of Governors and the Undergraduate Alumni Admissions Program Board of Advisors and regularly travels around the world and the country on Georgetown matters. He is also a local chair of the Georgetown University Alumni Admissions Program, overseeing a 150+ person alumni committee which arranges interviews and receptions for Georgetown applicants each year. He is also involved in fundraising for Georgetown as well as various medical and scientific research organizations in North America, Europe and Australia.
