Scott T. Ackerman is a partner at Pillinger Miller Tarallo LLP with more than 35 years of litigation experience representing insurers, self-insured employers, third-party administrators, businesses, and private clients in complex workers’ compensation, No-Fault, personal injury, Labor Law, general liability, and appellate matters. He has successfully managed high-volume caseloads throughout New York and is experienced in every stage of litigation, from initial case evaluation through trial and appeal.

Mr. Ackerman concentrates his practice on workers’ compensation defense, where he develops litigation strategy, prepares and argues hearings, conducts depositions, negotiates settlements, and drafts post-hearing submissions and appeals. Throughout his career, he has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in Labor Law litigation and has also handled automobile liability, premises liability, products liability, Dram Shop liability, insurance coverage, and appellate matters. His broad litigation background enables him to provide practical, results-oriented counsel while developing effective strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for his clients.

Before joining PMT, Mr. Ackerman held senior litigation and management positions at several prominent New York law firms, overseeing workers’ compensation departments and representing clients in a wide range of civil litigation matters. He earned his Juris Doctor through Thomas M. Cooley Law School’s accelerated two-year program and his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Emory University.
