Remy Rose Alegre is a litigator and disputes practitioner qualified to practice law in the Philippines and pending admission to the New York State Bar.
Before joining PMT, she was part of the Office of the Solicitor General of the Republic of the Philippines, actively representing various government offices in international arbitration matters and a wide array of domestic litigation proceedings. She was also a senior attorney of the litigation and alternative dispute resolution practice group of a premier Philippine firm, where she passionately advocated for local and foreign clients in commercial arbitration matters and in all aspects of litigation in civil, criminal, commercial, tax, intellectual property, environmental, administrative cases and specialized proceedings. Being a trained arbitration neutral and counsel, she has lectured on alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and has written several articles on commercial and construction arbitration.
She holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in International Business Regulation, Litigation, and Arbitration from the NYU School of Law. During her LL.M., she was a trained student mediator and a proud founding member of the NYU Southeast Asian Law Society (SEALS), an organization dedicated to fostering understanding and engagement on legal issues and developments in Southeast Asia. She rendered pro bono comparative research work on existing paternity benefits and protection for the International Lawyers Assisting Workers Network, and upon graduation, interned for a personal injury firm in Manhattan and the LegalHealth unit of the New York Legal Assistance Group.
A consistent member of her law school’s honor society, she graduated cum laude, top 5%, in her Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Philippines College of Law. She served as student editor of the Philippine Law Journal and legal apprentice to an Associate Justice of the Philippine Supreme Court. She has a bachelor’s degree from the same university, magna cum laude.
