Joe Kavesh is a partner in PMT’s Elmsford, New York and Roseland, New Jersey offices. He concentrates his practice on the defense of high-exposure litigation involving transportation and trucking, premises liability, and toxic tort matters. Joe is frequently retained by national and international insurers to defend complex claims and catastrophic loss cases in state and federal courts. His practice is defined by strategic case evaluation, early risk assessment, and disciplined trial preparation.
Prior to joining PMT, Joe was a partner at an Am Law 100 firm where he represented clients in high-stakes general liability and commercial matters. He has represented some of the world’s biggest corporations, including the largest home improvement retailer and the largest ride-sharing company, in federal and state court proceedings. His litigation experience spans all phases of defense work, from pre-suit investigation through trial and appeal.
Joe is a frequent lecturer on defense-oriented litigation topics and has presented to professional organizations on issues including conflicts of interest and the investigation of premises liability claims. He earned his undergraduate degree from Brown University and his Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, and multiple federal courts.
Outside of his law practice, Joe is an accomplished distance runner who has completed numerous half marathons throughout the Northeast. He enjoys classic rock music and is an avid crossword puzzle and Wordle enthusiast. He is especially proud of the time he spends with his family and raising his three sons.
