Jim brings over three decades of litigation experience in New Jersey, New York and Puerto Rico to the firm. He has tried over three dozen cases to verdict in state and federal courts, and has successfully argued appeals before the First and Third Circuit Courts of Appeals and the New Jersey Appellate Division.

Jim has litigated a wide variety of cases, including premises liability, construction accident and defect matters, product liability, insurance coverage and surety bond cases, motor vehicle cases, public entity litigation, civil rights, and labor & employment law matters, among others.

Before joining the firm, Jim served as the sub-director of the Litigation Department for one of the 10 largest law firms in Puerto Rico; in that capacity he oversaw all federal litigation cases. He represented target defendants in the Humberto Vidal gas explosion case, in which 33 people were killed and 99 injured, and the North Coast Superaqueduct collapse, involving the destruction of a $305 million water pipeline during a high-pressure event during the pipeline’s commissioning. Since then he has been involved in many high profile, high exposure cases in New Jersey and New York.

Jim is completely bilingual in English and Spanish. He is a graduate of Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware and Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey
